Description: Antalya is Turkey’s principal Mediterranean holiday resort and is backed by steep cliffs and mountains. The city provides a unique blend of Byzantine and Islamic architecture with many Roman remains, especially around the ancient harbour.
Sightseeing and excursions: City tours, including Kaleici, the old quarter and the Centre of Art and Culture; Lower and Upper Düden waterfalls; boat trips and water sports.
Beaches: The two main beaches are located on either side of the city and are easily reached by local bus or taxi.
Shopping: Gold, carpets, kilims, leather goods and handicrafts may be found in the many open air markets. Major brand names are available in the modern shopping centres.
